TUCKED BEHIND A HEDGEROW ON THE EDGE OF OUR FORESTED SMALLHOLDING YOU’LL FIND OUR CHARMING TRADITIONAL SHEPHERDS HUT. IT’S THE PERFECT HIDEAWAY FOR THOSE LOOKING TO TAKE SOME TIME OUT AND CREATE THEIR VERY OWN SELF-MADE RETREAT.
'Muggans', (named after the Mugwort herb that grows by its steps) our green wavy tin clad hut, is entirely off-grid and has everything you'll need for a relaxing and memorable getaway, including a wood burning stove to keep you cozy, a comfortable double bed with sheep wool pillows and an outdoor BBQ and pizza oven for luxury campfire cooking.

Furnished with antiques that are both beautiful and practical, the hut has a feeling of nostalgia that nods towards the 'back to the land' movement of the late 60's/70's when large numbers of people left the cities to follow their dreams of self sufficiency, often in mobile transport like gypsy wagons, buses or shepherds huts.

OUTSIDE THE HUT YOU WILL FIND THE WELTEVREE ‘OUTDOOROVEN’ FOR ALL YOUR CAMPFIRE COOKING NEEDS. IT SIMULTANEOUSLY ALLOWS FOR GRILLING OVER HOT COALS, BAKING IN THE PIZZA/BREAD OVEN AND FRYING/SIMMERING ON THE STOVE TOP.
ON REALLY WET DAYS THE INDOOR WOOD BURNER CAN BE USED TO BOIL A KETTLE AND FOR SPEEDY WATER BOILING THERE IS ALSO A KELLY KETTLE. ALL OF THESE OPTIONS REALLY HELPS YOU PRACTICE YOUR FIRE BUILDING SKILLS!

THE SHEPHERDS HUT IS PARKED UP IN ITS VERY OWN GARDEN SPACE, PRIVATELY ENCIRCLED BY A WOODEN BRASH HEDGE AND FRUITING TREES AND SHRUBS.
THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM TO THROW DOWN A BLANKET ON THE GRASS AND SOAK UP THE SUN AND A PICNIC TABLE FOR OUTDOOR MEALS.

When you stay in our hut you have private use of Hedge + Furrow’s Wild Spa - the wood fired hot tub and use of the wild swimming pond.
Wild Spa
Just a stones throw from the hut , sitting privately by our large pond, you’ll find the stylish and inviting Hikki WOOD FIRED HOT TUB.
After relaxing your mind and muscles in the hot tub you can exhilarate the senses by taking a WILD SWIM in our beautiful fresh water pond.
The use of the hot tub is included in your stay with us at Hedge + Furrow, including all fire wood.
